We had to go out this afternoon to get some ingredients for our gourmet dinner. We figured since we would be eating a yummy, but heavy dinner of pasta and bread, we would drink our lunch. Jamba Juice is my new FAVE!!
I am NOT a cook! But, my friend Emily is! And, thankfully, she took me on one of her cooking adventures today. We made homemade pasta, bolognese sauce, and the most amazing bread! Ya, I’m diabetic, what of it?!?!?
The making of the bread:
The pasta was interesting to make. The recipe has a picture of starting the dough in a bowl, but Emily just saw it being worked on the counter. So, that’s what we did! MUCH more fun and interesting that way! You make a “well” with the flour and put the eggs in the “well”. My “well” was not big enough for all four eggs. And the mixing was interesting. But I would have it NO other way! We did it the best way for us!
This was also an important step in the whole process:
Frank helped out a little. The dough was tough to roll out. It had to be VERY thin and then cut into slices.
The noodles and sauce (is your mouth watering? ‘Cause it should be!):
We were a little too eager to actually EAT the dinner. It was late and we worked hard on this dinner, so we were hungry! So, I don’t have any pictures of the finished product, but let me assure you, it was YUMMY!
And I can now say I have made homemade pasta. I feel very accomplished in that! It was much easier than expected too. What a fun way to end our Saturday!
TOO MUCH FUN!!! Thanks for hanging with me 🙂 XO!
